Specialist Trauma Therapy
Trauma is often defined as an emotional response to distressing, life-threating or stressful event that make you feel out of our control or unable to cope. Specialist trauma therapy may be useful if the accident, trauma or illness has changed the way you think about yourself, others or the world.
You may seek support if you or others have noticed changes in the way you respond to situations, behaviour or if you are avoiding certain experiences to prevent feeling a certain way. Working together we will explore how your experiences have shaped how you understand yourself, view others and the way you experience the world.
Serenity Forge Therapy was established to provide compassionate, evidence-based trauma therapy to children and families.
Following a traumatic event, children or families may experience changes in physical health or be adjusting to a disability. We specialise in working with children and families following an accident, trauma or illness that has resulted in a change in physical health. Including:
Spinal Injuries
Brain Injuries
Physical Changes to Appearance
Burns or scars
Long COVID or fatigue
